If you’re wondering whether screen printing is the right choice for your shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, or other garments, chances are the answer is a resounding “Yes!” There are a lot of reasons why screen printing is almost always the best choice.

Versatility

There is just so much you can do with screen printing! Use a minimalistic, one-color design on a distressed t-shirt to create a serious retro look or combine multiple colors on a performance fabric for a modern, sporty feel. It’s really up to you to decide what you want your shirts to be.

Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to t-shirts. Screen printing makes perfect sense for sweatshirts, sweatpants, shorts, as well as quarter-zips and other light jackets. Really, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding the perfect garment for your project, team, organization, group – whatever!

Durability

Don’t look so surprised! When it’s done right, screen printing can last for years and survive countless washings (Hint: Turn your screen-printed clothes inside out before throwing them in the washer to help them last even longer.)

Are you wondering what “done right” means? (We thought you’d never ask!)
For us, “done right” means…

  1. We start with a quality garment (it’s the only kind we offer, so whatever you choose will be just fine!).
  2. Then we burn your design on the perfect mesh-size screen to get just the right level of detail in your design.
  3. Of course, we use only the best available Pantone inks so we can accurately reproduce the colors in your logo, mascot, or design.
  4. We also take the extra step of applying a base coat to every garment we print. Think of it like the primer underneath a custom paint job on a classic car: You’ll never know it’s there, but it’s critical if you want the finished color to be bright, bold, and true.

When Not to Use Screen Printing

For all its amazing qualities, there are some times when screen printing isn’t the best choice. For example, if you need fewer than 12 shirts, you’d be better off considering one of our Heat Press Specialties. It’s just difficult to offer an attractive price on small screen print orders because of the cost of making the screens.

Additionally, if you choose a garment that already has an embroidered logo on it, such as polos from Under Armour®, adidas®, and other brands, then it might make the most sense to choose embroidery for your decoration, too.
